AAA will not pickup:
Flammable products, oil, paint cans, tires, animal carcasses, manure, tree stumps, dirt, stone, rock, brick, lead, acid/wet cell batteries, railroad ties, toxic materials, bio-hazardous material’s or waste, propane/oxygen/helium tanks, items containing gas or oil, explosives, live ammunition or weapons, large amounts of animal waste, oversized brush, (longer than 4 feet in length or 6 inches in diameter), bags weighing more than 50 pounds or any items that cannot be safely loaded by our crews for removal or any items that may damage our hauling equipment.
Do you take large items and when?
When you call our office 24 hours in advance of your pickup day, we will take some bulk items on your normal trash pickup day. For appliances, metal, or heavy items we will service with a different vehicle. Please call our customer service department at (703) 818-8222 for the schedule of these pickup dates. There is a nominal fee for the special pickup based on the type of item. Prices begin at $50.00.
Does the trash inside the cart have to be bagged?
Yes. All trash should be bagged and placed inside the toter (if applicable) or your own personal trash cans. If you do not use trash cans please make sure your bagged trash is securely prepared.
How many toters (carts) are we allowed to have?
Each resident receives one toter and a recycling bin for no additional charge with the service. If you would like an additional toter we will provide it for a nominal fee per month.
What are the business hours?
From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
From 8:00AM to 5:00PM Monday thru Friday.
What do you accept for residential curbside recycling?
Currently AAA provides curbside recycling collection for plastic bottles with a neck, cans, glass bottles and jars, and mixed paper. Mixed Paper Includes: junk mail, magazines, catalogs, newspapers, phone books, cereal and cracker boxes, flattened cardboard. AAA would prefer (3ft x 3 ft). Items not acceptable for curbside recycling: light bulbs, ceramic dishes, cookware, pizza boxes, plastic or wax coated paper (milk cartons). Hardcover books, styrofoam, plastic bags, aluminum foil or foil pie pans, yogurt/margarine tubs or similar items. Please check back frequently for a list of newly accepted recyclables. What happens when my service day falls on a holiday?
As a general rule, twice a week customers will only receive service once the week of the holiday. One time per week customers would be scheduled for pickup on Saturday. Please click here before the holiday for any changes.
What if we have extra bags?
We will pick up one toter and up to three additional bags. Please call our office 24 hours in advance to advise us of the extra trash. There will be an extra charge for additional bags of trash.
What is your holiday schedule?
We do not provide service on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, to allow our employees to spend time with their families. Depending on landfill and transfer station availability, we may be closed on other holidays, as well. What time does the trash have to be out at the curb?
Fairfax and Loudoun County residential customers refuse must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day. Prince William County residential customers refuse must be placed at the curb by 5:00 a.m. on your collection day.
When will you pick up my yard debris?
All yard waste to be collected must be prepared accordingly and placed to the curb for collection. Please check your county office for information specific to your area. Prince William County residents may place yard waste out year-round with the trash. Fairfax and Loudoun county residents must place it out separately from March 1st through December 24. Note: Composting, chipping and mulching are great ways to recycle your yard waste. These products can be used to improve the overall health of your lawn and garden. It is our goal to pick up what is set out for collection but during peaks in yard waste production, we may choose to limit collection to 20 bags of yard waste per pick-up day. Brush and limbs must be cut into 4-foot lengths, bundled with rope or twine and should not exceed 50 pounds. In Loudoun County: grass clippings, leaves and twigs can be placed in paper bags or personal containers. In Fairfax County: grass clippings, leaves and twigs can be placed in paper bags, personal containers, clear plastic bags or black plastic bags marked with an “X”. Tree limbs that are larger than 6 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length will not be collected. All unbundled brush will be considered a special pick-up. Please call our office or visit our website in advance to schedule your pickup of these items. The minimum charge for a special pickup is $50.00. We provide a special collection for Christmas trees up to 8 feet long on the first two Wednesdays in January. Please removal all decorations and tinsel before placing at the curb. Any trees not picked up by the second Wednesday in January will be collected with the trash starting the following week.
